For over 20 years, nextPix has been producing award-winning films and groundbreaking theatre.
Since 2000, nextPix Productions has been producing, co-producing, and co-funding documentaries, narrative features, and theater. Founded by Don Thompson and Diana Takata, films produced and/or supported by nextPix have won awards and special recognition at dozens of film festivals, including Sundance, Cannes, Montreal, Toronto, Berlin, Hot Docs, and Cinema for Peace.
Our projects have been distributed by major outlets such as Netflix, HBO, PBS, BBC, ARTE, New Yorker Films, Strand, Journeyman Films, and others.
Plays written by Don Thompson have been staged coast-to-coast and been lauded in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Baltimore Sun, and The Washington Post.
Screenplays written by Thompson have received numerous awards and been produced and/or optioned. Awards include top-level recognition at the New York Film Awards, Worldfest Houston (Gold Remi), Los Angeles Film Awards, Christian Film Festival, Filmmatic Screenplay Awards, New York Screenplay Contest, and the UCLA Samuel Goldwyn Writing Awards.
Through Del Sol Press, Thompson has also published two anthologies of essays: Your Life Is A Movie, and A World Without War.
